What this site collects, what it does not, and the limits of the information here.
This page explains what this website does and does not collect. It is not a substitute for the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices you receive from TRIA Orthopedics, which governs your medical records.
This website does not collect personal information
This site is a set of static pages and downloadable PDF documents. It has no contact form, no login, no patient portal, no comment section, and no database. There is nowhere on this site to enter your name, your date of birth, or anything about your health.
Do not send medical information by email or through any link on this site. Email is not a secure channel. To communicate with the office about your care, call 952-831-8742 or use the HealthPartners MyChart system.
The “Share your story” form
The one exception is the patient story form linked from the Patient Stories page. It is hosted by Google Forms, not by this site, and is subject to Google’s privacy practices. Submitting it is voluntary. Stories are published only after Dr. Olsen reviews them, with a first name and last initial, and only with the permission you give on the form. Do not use it for medical questions.
Your medical records
Your medical records are held by TRIA Orthopedics and are governed by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and by TRIA’s Notice of Privacy Practices. Nothing on this website changes those protections or your rights under them.
Server logs
Like nearly all websites, the service hosting these pages records basic technical information when a page is requested — such as the requested address, the time, and a general geographic region. This information is not used to identify individual visitors and is not linked to any patient record.
Links to other websites
This site links to other organizations, including TRIA Orthopedics, HealthPartners, and product manufacturers referenced in the patient guides. Those websites are operated by others and have their own privacy practices. This site does not control them and is not responsible for their content.
Medical disclaimer
The information on this website is provided for education only. It is not medical advice, it does not create a physician–patient relationship, and it cannot replace a physician’s independent judgment about what is appropriate for you. The outcome figures described are Dr. Olsen’s own results in his own patients. They are not a guarantee, and no surgeon can promise you an outcome.
